Benefits of Creating an Apprenticeship Program
Large, medium and small businesses are eligible to create and maintain Registered Apprenticeship programs. Employers can build a program for their specific needs and integrate it seamlessly into their current training and human resource development strategies. The increased knowledge transfer through on-the-job learning from an experienced mentor, combined with education courses to support work-based learning, creates a safer workplace with a stable and reliable worker pipeline.

91%
Nine (9) months after apprenticeship completion, 91% of apprentices retained employment.
Retention rates are even higher for military candidates as the values are even more significant for eligible Veterans able to utilize their G.I. Bill to draw a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) while participating in a Registered Apprenticeship program.
The MHA benefit gives veterans a tax-free stipend to offset or completely pay for their housing costs while they are employed under an approved Registered Apprenticeship program. On average, apprentices using their MHA receive close to $15,000 more in the first year of their apprenticeship than their counterparts in traditional employment. It’s an incredible opportunity for veterans and a differentiator for companies’ recruiting toolbelt.
Employers have seen higher retention rates and report that veteran employees demonstrate proven leadership, an ability to work well under pressure, a strong work ethic, transferable security clearances, and technological prowess—all valuable assets needed to increase talent strength across any industry.
