Whether you are just beginning your transition out of the military or you are a Veteran with years out of the service, the military experience you have provides a launchpad for a great career trajectory in any industry. However, there is often a skills-gap that prevents military candidates from accessing the best positions because they don’t have the specific industry experience. Registered Apprenticeships are a method to bridge that skills gap without a break in pay.

Veterans And Registered Apprenticeships

Companies are looking to hire veterans because they can bring a unique skill set to any job position. Veterans have high retention rates and therefore reduce employee turnover rates for companies. When enrolled in an Registered Apprenticeship, veterans will have access to GI Bill® benefits which can be accessed while participating in a Registered Apprenticeship program.

What would my career look like as a Veteran Apprentice?

The Department of Labor (DOL) currently has nearly 26,000 Registered Apprenticeship programs across the U.S. Veterans will be able to find an industry career in an industry they are interested in. After completion of an Registered Apprenticeship, apprentices will be able to turn their apprenticeship into a permanent position with their company. Your on-the-job experience allows you to elevate your career to the next level. Additionally, with an industry certification, individuals can expect a higher average salary compared to those without specialized training.
